IBM Patents External DRAM Box

IBM just found a way that may provide a temporal and cheaper way of memory upgrade, this technology is available in many from PDAs to Servers. According to the patent, there are three separate parts, a connector, a container for RAM, a cable between connector and the container. IBM says that connector is inserted to a DRAM slot in your computer, if there are no external rams plugged, then your default computer’s memory is used. According to IBM this technology is not a replacement for typical memory upgrades, but a temporal alternative, yet there is no such product announced by IBM.

Apple’s Safari 3 browser for Windows

Yesterday Apple introduced its Safari for Windows and Mac at WorldWide Developer Conference, finally they joined the browser wars. A beta release of the browser is now available. They claimed that Safari 3 is the fastest browser avaible, they said that the browser can render web pages 2 times faster that IE , 1.6 times faster than Firefox 2.
They are aiming to impress windows users with this browser. The graphical user interface is said to be differs from IE and Firefox. The beta version is 28.1 MB and it is available to download at www.apple.com/safari .

Radeon HD 2900 XT graphics card will be on markets by June 14. This card will be the first single GPU desktop graphics card with 1 GB of memory, and the price is expected to be significantly over $500. An alternative desktop graphics card is belongs to Nvidia, GeForce 7950 GX2, but this card has 2 GPUs, and Nvidia 8-series graphics cards have currently 768 MB of memory. 2900 XT may be the new gear of gamers, we will wait and see.
